During his official unveiling as the running mate to the governing New Patriotic Party's presidential candidate, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh declared that no president has developed Ghana like President Akufo-Addo.
How he commented has angered many who have condemned him on social media.
The comment has been defended by NPP spokespersons, who claim that he was merely comparing the achievements of President Akufo-Addo to those of Dr Kwame Nkrumah.
While some political scientists have called on him to apologise, the man who has been tagged as arrogant and a loose talker has justified his comments.
