Laryea Kingston reckons competition to make the 23-man World Cup squad will be intense than ever but insist he is up for the fight.
Kingston is one of the players whose position in the regular side is thought to be under threat following the formal switch of ex-German youth international Kevin-Prince Boateng.
The Portsmouth star is capable of playing on the right of midfield or in the center but Kingston insists he will thrive with competition.
"I have always done well when competition is great," he told KickOffGhana.com.
"I have never run away from one so for the overall good of the team it is good. At the end of the day we all have to show the manager in training and in the friendly games who deserves to play.
"Despite the threat, Kingston finds Boateng more than a useful addition. I have watched him several times and I think it is great addition to the team. He will make this team stronger."
