The MP for Karaga constituency, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam has challenged winners of the 2021 Farmers' Day to see the honour as a reason to be more innovative in their farming activities.
Speaking at the 2021 Farmers Day ceremony at Pishigu in the Northern Region, Dr. Amin underscored the importance of farming in the northern part of the country as it has been a source of livelihood for many. He further underscored the need to make the northern region the “food basket” of the country.
While emphasising how salient it is to promote innovation farm-culture, Dr. Amin shared his vision to broaden the absorbing capacity of the farming profession in the area to include more people.
He also shared how far advanced his farming program has been to absorb the men and women in the area.
He further urged the farmers to form an association in the area to collectively embark on projects to make the profession more lucrative.
The Karaga MP also reiterated that through such an avenue, he would be able, as MP, to support them in consultation with the district assembly.
He was thanked by a representative of the farmers for his recognition and was assured that all he has remarked would be acted upon.
