In a fiery speech that resonated with the Zongo community in Akwatia in the Eastern Region, Alhaji Boniface Abubakar Saddique, the former Zongo Minister and a leading member of the Movement for Change did not hold back in his criticism of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Addressing a crowd of Zongo chiefs and community members, Alhaji Saddique declared, "The current state of our lives is evidence of the failure of the ruling party. It's time to make the right decision for yourselves, your families, and the future of your community."

The caravan, led by Mrs. Kyerematen, was warmly welcomed by the Mosi chief, Dagomba chief, and a special prayer group. Boniface Saddique used the occasion to appeal for the community’s support in the upcoming elections, highlighting how the Movement for Change, led by Alan Kyerematen, has a clear vision to uplift disadvantaged communities. "Let us come together and on December 7, vote massively for Alan Kyerematen, a candidate who has a vision for transformation,” he urged.

Boniface Saddique's passionate plea for change was met with strong support from the chiefs, who echoed the community’s frustrations with the current government. The Kotokoli chief expressed deep appreciation for the Movement’s visit, noting that it was refreshing to see a presidential candidate and his team pay such close attention to the needs of the Zongo community. "We have been neglected for too long. We need a leader who understands our struggles, and we believe Alan Kyerematen is that leader," the chief stated.

Throughout his speech, Boniface Saddique emphasized the failures of the NPP, pointing to the lack of development and the worsening living conditions in the Zongo communities. He reminded the audience that the time for empty promises was over. “You have seen for yourselves. The NPP has failed you. Alan Kyerematen offers a new direction, one that will bring tangible change to our lives,” he said, drawing cheers from the crowd.

According to him, the Zongo Ministry that was created to support the Zongo communities across the country was like a vehicle without an engine.

The chiefs of Akwatia also shared their hopes for a brighter future under an Alan Kyerematen presidency. They noted that the Zongo community has been marginalized for too long, and they are ready to support a leader who will prioritize their needs. "We want to be part of the change that Alan Kyerematen is bringing. Our people deserve better, and we are ready to support this movement,” the Mosi chief declared.

As the caravan continued its tour through the Eastern Region, it was clear that Mr Kyerematen’s message of transformation is resonating with communities. The warm reception from the Zongo chiefs accentuates the growing support for the Movement for Change, which continues to gather momentum as it heads into the final stretch of the campaign.

Boniface Saddique concluded his speech with a powerful call to action: "On election day, let us send a clear message. Let us vote for change. Let us vote for Alan Kyerematen. Let us vote “Asie Ho”.
