The NUGS President Mr. Kweku Tuoho Bombason says he did not accuse the past executive of the union of political sycophancy.
He said comments attributed to him by the dailyEXPRESS newspaper that “the current executive are working hard to change the rather unfortunate legacy of political sycophancy inherited from the previous NUGS administration” are not accurate.
Speaking to myjoyonline on the line to Tamale, Mr. Bombason said although he spoke to the dailyEXPRESS on a wide range of issues, he did not accuse the previous administration of sycophancy.
“It has been my personal principle and a resolve of this administration to channel our energies towards making NUGS better and not vilify others.
Mudslinging and name calling will only serve to detract us from the core business of championing the cause of students-something we are not interesting in doing”, he said.
The National Union of Ghana Students president asked the purpose such an accusation would serve the current leadership.
“We are not petty and it is only worrying that the gentleman did not do due diligence as a journalist” Bombason stated.
