BlueCrest College (BCC), Ghana has announced a generous presidential scholarship programme to encourage talented female students in the country.
The recipient will be recommended by The Heritage and Cultural Society of Africa (HACSA) to pursue the four-year undergraduate degree in IT at BCC.
BCC Rector Dr Anand Agrawal extended this scholarship to the HACSA Founder-President and CEO Ms Johanna Svanikier during a three-day HACSA Summit attended by several prominent speakers and experts from the industry, academia and politics.
This event included a workshop called “Girls Can Code”, led by BlueCrest students Ms Florence Abena Sika Nartey aka ‘Password’ and Ms Claudia Mintogo. Both these students are currently pursuing B.Sc (IT) at BlueCrest College. They trained selected students on various IT concepts such as Web Design using HTML, CSS and Bootstrap.
Ms. Lisa Opoku, Partner and Managing Director, Goldman Sachs (New York) was the Guest of Honour at the event.

This scholarship is part of several fresh initiatives launched by BCC to promote talented students across the nation. BCC established a stronghold in IT education in Ghana after it set up its first centre in Accra 20 years ago. The institution gradually expanded to provide tertiary studies in fashion, business, journalism, Oil & Gas etc.
It recently conducted the nation-wide National Competitive Examination and selected candidates for 50–100% scholarships, based on exam marks and performance in a successive interview round.
Admissions are ongoing for the next batch in all BCC programmes.
BCC has a strategic partnership with the University of Sunderland, UK to offer Masters degree in Computing and IT Management. It has partnerships with IBM, Oracle and Microsoft to offer exclusive training to faculty and students.
