Ghana and Udinese midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang Badu looks set to face Ac Cesena on Sunday in the Italian Serie A as he has resumed full training with his club, Udinese.
The news comes as a relief to the teeming fans of the Senior National Team who have expressed fears the midfielder could miss the forth coming African Cup of Nations in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.
The 21 year old was ruled out of action for three weeks when he picked a knock early last month during a Uefa Europa League fixture against Celtic at the Stadio Friuli but kicked his first ball on Friday after he begun light training at Udinese’s training grounds later last month.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s hot afternoon sports show “fire for fire”, he said he has been screened and declared fit by Udinese’s doctors and available for selection on Sunday against Cesena.
“I just finished training with my colleagues and the good news is, I am back to full training and happy to kick my first ball today. I am on my way to the house and I feel very fit, according to my doctors, I can play in Sunday’s match, he said.”
The 2009 Africa youth championship gold medalist will join the rest of the Black Stars players in South Africa on Monday for Ghana’s pre-Nations Cup camping in Rustenburg which begins on 7 January and is very optimistic the Black Stars will shine in the AFCON tournament set to kick off on January 21.
