Accra Great Olympics Coach, Ken August has stated that, the presence of the Black Stars head coach in Ghana to monitor the premier league will drive competition among players and teams in the league.
Goran Stevanovic who has spent the past three months monitoring Ghanaian players in Europe is set to arrive in the country on Friday to continue his work by monitoring the premier league.
The Serbian has planned to win over critics who have questioned his long stay abroad with the excuse of traveling around to monitor Ghanaian players at the expense of making time to see games and talents in the local game
.
According to Ken August, Stevanovic’s monitoring will spark the interest and attractiveness of the premier league since players would want to get the attention of the Black Stars trainer.
“I personally think it’s a huge benefit to the players and the clubs and it’s a great motivation to the players as well to put up their best to one day earn a call up to the Black Stars.” Ken told Joy Sports.
