Once again Ghanian music is breaking borders. The 2022 NBA All-Stars Playoffs weekend saw another Ghanaian musician’s song played at the big event.
In a video that has surfaced online, Black Sherif’s Second Sermon remix featuring Burna Boy was being played at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse Arena in Cleveland on Sunday, February 20, 2022.
At the time, the players were on the court practising their shots ahead of the big game.
This comes barely two days after the video for the Second Sermon remix was released.
The video released on Friday, February 18, saw Black Sherif manoeuvre through a slum while being chased by some gang.
Although he was caught and beaten up, Burna Boy came in riding through the neighbourhood in a convoy with his men to save him.
Many fans who saw the video were touched by the “letter” from Black Sherif’s late Sis Mariama, which he held in his hand.
“Though you may hold your sword in a shaky hand, I see the demons you are slaying, carry on warrior you are stronger than you realise,” the letter reads.
