The Black Satellites of Ghana will begin preparations toward maintaining the African Youth Championship trophy they won in Rwanda last year with a friendly game against Bulgaria’s national Under-21 team in Mezdra on November 16.
Ghana sealed qualification to defend their African trophy with a 4-1 thumping of Benin last week in Accra to seal a 6-1 aggregate win in the final round qualifier.
Satellites Coach Orlando Wellington said the friendly will also be used to try some new players ahead of the Competition in Libya.
He said he didn’t know all the players that much and hopes the friendly will afford him the opportunity to adequately assess them.
The game, Mr Wellington told Joy Sports, will also put him in a better stead to determine who plays what role in the event that he has to make forced substitutions.
