Black queens are finalizing preparations for the 2012 African women championship qualifier against Mali in Bamako on January 14.
The senior national women’s team is set to end a training regime in Tamale this week ahead of next week’s trip to Bamako, the Capital of Mali for the qualifying match. The Black Queens are eager to bounce back from their problems of 2011 where they failed to make any positive showing in major games.
Assistant coach of the team, Yusuf Basigi in an interview with Joy Sports explains the team is ready to do well this year after the Tamale training tour.
“It is good that we are here and the purpose of the training tour is for acclimatization and no wonder we have gotten what we were looking for”. Said Basigi
The team surprisingly was ranked by FIFA as the second best in Africa in 2011 behind Nigeria.
