Mr. David Korbla Kutsoati affectionately called Dave Kuts or Uncle Dave began his journey on this earth on Tuesday 4th February 1958. He was born to Mr. Christian Ameyibor Kutsoati and Madam Dadziezor Domi all of blessed memory. He began his educational journey at the Klikor Central School at the age of 6 years. He started from class one to middle school Form 2. Because of his academic brilliance he sat for the common entrance examination when he was in middle school Form 2. He passed the exams successfully and later gained admission to Keta Secondary School in 1972 to pursue his Ordinary and Advanced Level Certificate. The late David stayed with his elder sister as a day student from form one to form five before moving to the boarding house for his A Level where he completed in 1979. The late Uncle Dave proceeded to University of Ghana Legon, from 1981 to 1984 where he graduated with Bachelor of Arts Honors in History and Religions. He did his national service as a teacher at Somey Senior Secondary School from 1984 to 1986. (Growing up Uncle Dave had always wanted to be a venture into business) so pursued some courses in Chartered Institute of Marketing and from the Management and Productivity Institute.
WORKING LIFE
In the 1970’s and 80’s when the Kente weaving industry was very vibrant within the Ketu South, the late David teamed up with his bosom friend Mr. Oliver Agboado to establish a business where they sold yarns and other kente weaving accessories. The business was very booming until they were robbed off all their capital when Oliver travelled to Nigeria to purchase goods for their shop. This led them to go their separate ways but still friends. Oliver left to join the Ghana Customs whilst Uncle Dave got a job with Local Cotton Development Company Limited as a Project Officer in charge of Afram Plains and the Northern Regions from 1988 to 1992. He was very instrumental in the cultivation of out- grower farms and developing markets for lint cotton and the seeds. In 1993, he left to join Modern Photos Company limited where he successfully launched and developed markets for Unomat Photographic Accessories. He worked at Modern Photos until 1995 where he got opportunity to join Ghana Agro Food Company Limited in Tema as a Sales Officer in charge of Ashanti and Brong Ahafo Regions. He launched and developed markets for sankofa products such as flour, canned tuna, soya oils and poultry feeds. From 1996 to 1998, due to his hard work of developing markets he was promoted to Senior Sales Officer and moved around to develop similar markets in Volta, Western, Central and Northern regions. In 2008, his hard work paid off again and he was promoted as the Product Development Manager. He held that appointment until 2013 when he voluntarily retired to pursue private business. After his retirement, he settled in Techiman where he ventured into several businesses, some of which were the sale and distribution of Agricultural inputs and products. He did this until in 2017, where he teamed up with his nephew Mr. Mattew Amuzu to establish the Star Cold Store in Techiman. A business he successfully nurtured and managed until his untimely demise on the faithful day of Friday 10 May 2024.
