Executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Bimbilla Constituency have appealed to Parliament to approve the nomination of its MP Dominic Nitiwul as Defense Minister to enable him to serve the nation.

According to the executives, Mr Nitiwul delivered his mandate during his tenure in office and deserves to be retained.

In a press statement, the communication officer in the area, Alhaji Sayibu Abdul Malik mentioned the procurement and commissioning of 138 operational vehicles, procurement and commissioning of 50 buses, construction of a 250-unit housing,

Mr Abdul Malik added that commencement of a $100m military housing project across all garrisons among others as some of the transformations the Ghana Armed Forces witnessed under his watch.

According to him, the MP, carried out developmental projects in his constituency including the connection of over 75 rural communities to the National grid, upgrading the district to a municipality, construction of several schools and CHP compounds across the constituency, construction of a maternity ward and provision of medical equipment and an ambulance to Bimbilla, among others.

The Bimbilla NPP Communications Officer said many, including senior party members, doubted the credibility of Mr Nitiwul to handle such a position when he was first appointed but has proven himself, four years down the line.

He further added said with these sterling performances, they are not surprised to see his name among the next batch of cabinet ministers, which is an indication that he has worked to the satisfaction of H.E Nana Akufo-Addo.

He commended the President for presenting Mr Nitiwul for the second time to head the Defense Ministry.

The communication officer called on residents to rally behind the MP for him to deliver his mandate.
