Culinary excellence took centre stage at Koforidua Technical University as Team Olila Angels emerged victorious on the 7th day of Big Chef Tertiary audition.
The win secures them the honor of representing the university at Joy Prime’s upcoming Big Chef Tertiary Season 2, the most prestigious culinary TV reality show for students across the country.
The competition, which has been the talk of the campus ,saw three different teams from the hospitality department showcase their cooking skills, creativity and culinary techniques. The atmosphere was electric as the teams went head-to-head in a mystery box challenge, each aiming to impress the judges with their unique dishes.
Team Olila Angels, consisting of two dedicated and passionate culinary arts students, faced stiff competition from other skilled teams. However, it was their innovative approach that truly set them apart. Their winning dish, a beautifully plated twist on yam and chicken drumsticks with tart as dessert, showcased their deep understanding of flavor balance and presentation.
The judging panel, which included culinary experts were particularly impressed by Team Angels' ability to marry traditional flavors with modern culinary trends.
With their win, Team Angels now advances to Big Chef Tertiary Season 2, where they will compete against other top teams from Technical Universities across Ghana. The competition will be fierce, but Team Angels is more than ready to take on the challenge.
“This is just the beginning,” said Kebison-Agyekum Boateng Joshua ,one of the team’s key members. “We’re going to bring our best to Big Chef Tertiary and show everyone what Koforidua Technical University is made of.”
The team will now enter a rigorous period of preparation, refining their skills, experimenting with new dishes, and ensuring they’re at the top of their game for Big Chef tertiary Season 2 competition.
As Team Olila Angels prepares for the next stage of their culinary journey, the entire university community is rallying behind them, confident that they have what it takes to bring home the title.
The Big Chef Tertiary audition train will make its final stop at Ho Technical University on Thursday, August 22.
