Mrs Iddrisu held numerous positions including head of industrial property law division and later became Ghana’s copyright administrator. Administering the oath of office to her, president Mills impressed upon her to use her position to promote fairness and justice for all. The president is also hopeful that the history maker will ensure that cases are dealt with expeditiously by the courts. Before she was approved for the position by the Appointments Committee of Parliament, she had been asked by the minority in Parliament to apologize to the judiciary for using derogatory terms on them. According to the minority she had on a political platform referred to the courts as ‘kangaroo courts’. Story by Malik Abass Daabu
