Reigning Premier League champion Berekum Chelsea is set to face Medeama SC in the final of the GHALCA Glo 8 competition on Sunday.
Chelsea reached the final after beating AshantiGold a 2-0 at the Sunyani Coronation Park on Thursday. Goals from new signing Charles Taylor and Captain Abdul Basit ensured Chelsea secured victory.
Medeama SC also reached the final after New Edubiase 3-1 at the Sekondi Essipong Stadium on Thursday.
This grande finale will pitch new assistant coach of Medeama SC Yusif Abubakar against his former club.
Coach Abubakar told JOY Sports, “It will be tougher than what we have seen. I cannot say because I have been there I still know everything Chelsea. There are some new players with Chelsea. These players were not with the club during my tenure and now Coach Pollack is also at the club, so maybe they are quite a changed side.”
Yusif Abubakar assisted Orlando Wellington to steer Berekum Chelsea to the Premier League success last season.
