Bel Aqua Ghana, a subsidiary of the Blow Group of Companies, has hosted Healing Together Vigil 2.0 as part of its Take a Break campaign, an initiative designed to foster mental health awareness and encourage well-being among Ghanaians.

The event, held in Accra, brought together mental health practitioners, advocates, influencers, media personalities, diplomats, and community leaders to promote open dialogue on mental health.

This year’s vigil kicked off with a mental health talk led by professionals, offering attendees essential insights on developing strong mental health practices. Chris Addo-Sarkodie, Head of Marketing at Bel Aqua, emphasized that the campaign is a cornerstone of the company’s corporate social responsibility.

“We’ve created a platform where Ghanaians can interact with experts on managing their mental well-being. Afterwards, we share drinks from Bel Beverages to keep the atmosphere light and engaging. The theme for the campaign is *Take a Break*, and we’ve championed it since last year,” Addo-Sarkodie explained.

As part of their commitment, Bel Aqua has pledged substantial support to the Ghana Mental Health Authority. “Each quarter, Bel Aqua is providing GH₵75,000 to the Mental Health Authority, totaling GH₵300,000 annually. This funding will enable psychiatrists and psychologists to reach out to communities and impact lives,” Addo-Sarkodie said. “We are excited about this partnership, and we’re hopeful that through this collaboration, we can dispel some of the stigma around mental health in Ghana.”

Clinical psychologist and lecturer Dr. Seth Mawusi Asago also underscored the importance of maintaining mental wellness through simple daily routines. “People should monitor their sleep, diet, and exercise intentionally. Repetition can lead to burnout, and taking a break allows you to return with renewed energy,” Dr. Asago advised.

The event also showcased performances by some of Ghana’s most creative alternative artists, including mental health advocates in music, poetry, dance drama, and comedy. Through Healing Together Vigil 2.0, Bel Aqua Ghana reinforces its commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), dedicated to mental health advocacy across the country.
