Ghanaian striker Eric Bekoe marked his return from suspension with two goals in Petrojet's 2-3 defeat to Zamalek at the Suez Stadium on Sunday.
Bekoe got a leveler for Petrojet four minutes after in-form striker Ahmed Gaafar put Zamalek ahead in the 18th minute.
Zamalek striker Shikabala restored Zamalek's advantage five minutes past the hour mark before Gaafar rounded off a neatly-worked counter attack seven minutes from time to make sure of the victory.
Bekoe scored from the spot again deep into stoppage time to notch a consolation.
The former Asante Kotoko striker returned to the summit of the scorers chart with 13 goals, one more than Police Union's Nigerian forward Minusu Buba.
