Coach Kobina Amissah of Premier League side, Bechem Chelsea, has disagreed with followers of the team blaming him for the club’s ‘under-performance’.
He told Asempa FM in Accra the accusations cannot be correct because the club has not fared badly at all in the five-week old league. Besides, the club has played some of its very difficult games for the season.
Chelsea has only four points from a maximum 15, having won one of two home games and drawing the other, while it has lost all three away games it has played so far. Chelsea have played away to Ashgold at Obuasi, Liberty in Accra and Heart of Lions at Kpando and hosted Berekum Arsenal and RTU at Sunyani.
Asked to confirm rumours that he had been given a number of games to win or be fired, coach Amissah said he was not aware of any such ultimatum, however that should not be any of his headaches since the coaching job is synonymous with ‘sacking’.
Describing the two processes of hiring and firing as ‘twin’ in football, he said while he contends with getting the team to perform at peak, the club’s managers may also be measuring other determinants and that should not be his headache.
