Renowned dentist and Chairman of the Beaver Health Group, Dr Dennis Emeka Ilogu has been crowned Ghana's ‘Most Outstanding Personality in Dentistry’ at the just-ended Business Executive Excellence Awards 2024, held at the Ghana Marriot Hotel in Accra.
The award reflects his stunning leadership qualities and exceptional dedication to providing quality healthcare in the country and also for being an extremely respected personality advocating for best business practices in the sector.
The 10th edition of the event, held on Friday, June 28th, 2024 seeks to identify and publicly recognise private enterprises, public institutions and individuals that have displayed exemplary conduct and extraordinary accomplishment in their areas of business over the past year.
For him, the award authenticates the company's continuous growth and contribution to Ghana’s health sector and the Ghanaian economy at large.
Speaking to the media, Dr Dennis Emeka Ilogu said, the award means a lot to his consistent determination to build a formidable brand in the healthcare sector. According to him, the award reflects the company's dedication and commitment to dentistry.
“I am extremely grateful for such a wonderful recognition. I will continue to work hard to achieve the vision of becoming the best globally. I dedicate this award to our cherished clients", he said.
Previously known as Beaver Clinic, the company is expanding to become Beaver Health Group with a 360-degree approach to healthcare, as the GP practice and Pharmacy come on board, to complement the dental. In this way, Beaver Health Group is positioning itself as a leader in the Healthcare sector and setting a benchmark for others to follow.
More about Dr Dennis Emeka Ilogu
Dr Dennis Ilogu is the Principal Dentist & Chairman of Beaver Clinic Limited, a premium dental facility with a branch in Accra, the new St. Michael’s Specialist Hospital Lapaz, and Kumasi.
Patients include captains of various industries across Africa, corporate executives, diplomats, and government officials.
With over 40 years of experience, Dr Dennis graduated from the University of Leeds Dental School in 1983 and went straight into general dental practice.
He ran a predominantly NHS dental practice in the Fallowfield area of Manchester from 1983 to 2004, when he sold to his associates to concentrate on Ghana.
In 1978, Dr Dennis Ilogu graduated from the University of Nigeria with a B.Sc. in Zoology and completed his National Youth Service Corps in Nigeria the following year. In 1983, he graduated from Leeds University School of Dentistry in the UK with a degree in Dentistry. From 1985 to 2004, he acquired a dental practice in the Fallowfield area of Manchester that was struggling after the founder's death five years prior.
Through hard work and dedication, he turned it into a successful practice that focused on NHS and private patients. In 2004, he sold the practice to his associate but remained as the landlord.
In 2005, he sold his real estate portfolio to focus on Ghana, where Beaver Clinic Ltd. was incorporated to provide holistic healthcare services. Initially, dentistry was the focus and was carried out in a mobile unit until they bought the current site in 2007.
In 2016, they completed the construction of their flagship eco-friendly premises, which houses Beaver Clinic Ltd, Dental Resources Ltd (where Dr Dennis Ilogu has a 50:50 ownership), and Arcoa Ghana Ltd.
