Beautiful Beneath and its partners, Cancer Support Network recently  organized a free breast screening exercise for women at Kasoa in the Awutu East District of the Central Region.

It formes part of a renewed  breast Cancer awareness put together to educate women in the area.

Over 700 women were screened and those who showed cancer related signs were referred to specialized health facilities for further medical examinations.

Beautiful Beneath which is the latest force to join hands with some of health NGOs to step up the campaign against breast cancer and other related health issues, set up a team during the exercise to educate women on dangers  of wearing wrong bra and its negative impact on breast cancer prevention.

The company, which is a leading dealer in ladies' lingerie and sports apparels, last month organised a breast screening exercise at its office in East Legon in Accra in which several hundreds of residents benefited from the exercise.

In an interview after the program, the CEO of the company Juliet Gyamfi  said breast and cervical cancers are among some of the life-threatening health dangers women face today and Beautiful Beneath hopes to firm up efforts to aid their control.

According to her, the idea was developed some years ago to support the global campaign to kick against breast cancer out of the world.

 She pledged her company’s  continuous  commitment to the cause of fighting  Breast Cancer until the battle is won.

"As a business, Beautiful Beneath will continue to support this project with the needed resources as  corporate social  responsibility, Breast Love Foundation  a charity organ of the company will continue the crusade until the battle against Breast Cancer is won," said Juliet Gyamfi.

Madam Gyamfi  announced that her company  is about to celebrate its  first anniversary and therefore  free breast measure for the right size bra, getting measured and wearing the right size bra will take place as part of the celebration.

On his part Mr Blaise Ackom, a medical practitioner advised women avoid multiple sex partners which according to him, can increase their chances of getting cervical cancer.

He said Alcohol , hygiene wash and douching are some of the contributing factors  and thefore cautioned women against those practices that put their lives in danger in terms of cancer infection.
