Managers and attendants of petrol filling stations have been asked to ensure that naked fires are about fifty yards away from their stations to avoid an outbreak of fire.
The Winneba District Police Commander, ASP Jordan Quaye said this during a meeting with managers and attendants of petrol filling stations in and around Winneba on Wednesday.
He expressed his concern about businesses around the vicinity of some stations, especially that of women frying yams and others who use fire and warned that petrol was highly inflammable and caution must be taken to avoid disaster.
ASP Quaye urged the managers to be security conscious by monitoring very closely people who visited their stations.
He said to discourage robbery at their stations, managers and attendants should send their sales to the banks during the day, rather than keeping it at the officers.
The Police commander urged those who need police protection to contact his office for negotiations.
