Former President of the Republic, John Agyekum Kufuor, has hailed plans by Vice President and Presidential Candidate of the NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, to train about 1 million Ghanaian youth in digital skills.
The proposal, is one of Dr. Bawumia's policies to create 4 million jobs for the youth as President, explaining that the training of the 1 million young Ghanaians in digital skills, will boost his quest to make Ghana a digital hub of Africa, and also create more international opportunities for the youth.
Former President Kufuor, in an interview with Asempa FM, hailed the proposal, saying that in an era where technology has become indispensable globally, trainong 1 million Ghanaians in digital skills will be of immense help to them.
"He has (also) mentioned that he will train 1 million youth in digital training. You could be here and get an outsourcing job in the USA and get paid," said the former President
"It is not always that the government has to build factories and employ people. No it is the private sector."
"Bawumia's proposal seeks to give our young people the needed education and skill training so that they can also be ready for the global market."
