Vice President and presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has urged Ghanaians to reject the National Democratic Congress's (NDC) John Mahama in the upcoming elections.
He argued that Mr. Mahama has nothing better to offer the country, citing his past leadership as evidence.
Dr. Bawumia highlighted that many Ghanaians had initially doubted the feasibility of policies like the National Health Insurance Scheme, free maternal care, and the school feeding programme during the administration of former President John Agyekum Kufuor.
Speaking at his final campaign rally in Accra, Dr. Bawumia emphasised that these transformative policies were achieved because of a mindset of possibilities.
“Not many people thought it was possible to implement National Health Insurance, but President Kufuor did it. Not many people thought we could do Free Maternal Care, but President Kufuor did it. Not many people thought we could do the School Feeding Programme, but President Kufuor did it. This is about possibilities and a mindset of possibilities,” he remarked.
The Vice President said his digitalisation agenda would modernise the country and promised voters a continuation of the Free Senior High School policy and other initiatives introduced by the NPP government.
