Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and former President John Mahama have expressed their sincere condolences about the passing of renowned waakye seller, Auntie Muni.
Dr. Bawumia took to social media to share his thoughts, stating, "Indeed, we belong to Allah, and indeed, to Him, we return.
"I received the news of the death this morning of Aunty Muni, our nation’s famous Waakye seller. My condolences to her family. May Allah forgive her shortcomings and grant her Jannah,” he said.
Former President John Mahama also expressed his sentiments. He remarked, “I woke up to the sad news of the death of Hajia Muni, a veteran caterer who for decades served us mouth-watering ‘waakye’.
"May God grant Hajia Muni a place in paradise."
Auntie Imoro Muniratu, who was known for her delectable waakye was confirmed to have passed away in the early hours of Wednesday, January 3 by the family.
She died at the age of 72 after succumbing to a brief illness at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) in Accra.

Alhassan Abdul Arafat, Auntie Muni's son, disclosed this during an interview.
He revealed that his mother had been unwell and was initially taken to the SSNIT Hospital.
However, complications arose, prompting Auntie Muni to request discharge.
Meanwhile, Ghanaians have taken to social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter to mourn the passing of Auntie Muni.
In the wake of the heartbreaking news, the micro-blogging site has transformed into a hub of grief, with Ghanaians struggling to come to terms with the loss of the celebrated waakye seller.
The predominant sentiments expressed on X revolved around eulogising Auntie Muni for her years of cooking and feeding thousands of Ghanaians.
