Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia's initiative to introduce electronic buses to Ghana is set to revolutionisse the transportation sector and significantly reduce commuting costs.
According to the Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, the new electronic buses, which are currently on their way to Ghana, are projected to cut down transportation expenses by as much as 40%.
The introduction of these electric buses aligns with the government's broader vision of promoting sustainable transport solutions while addressing the challenges of traffic congestion and pollution.
The NEIP CEO emphasised that the electronic buses will not only enhance the efficiency of public transportation but also contribute to a cleaner and greener environment in urban areas.
In addition to cost savings, the electronic buses are expected to improve the overall commuting experience for passengers.
With modern amenities and reduced noise levels compared to traditional diesel buses, these vehicles will provide a more comfortable and eco-friendly alternative for daily travelers.
"Dr Bawumia's Electric Buses will be in by this month's ending. No fuel cost, low maintenance. Public transport fares to be reduced by about 40%."
