Bawumia commissions ultramodern office complex for Ho Municipal Assembly

Vice President Dr Mahamadu Bawumia, has commissioned an ultramodern office complex for the Ho Municipal Assembly, which was realised through the District Assembly Common Fund.

The Assembly and its numerous departments had for decades been housed in a colonial-era building, and the new structure was completed in March this year to give it a facelift.

The GH¢15 million project provides more than 80 modern office spaces and conference facilities, bringing an end to decades of human constraint.

The Vice President said a crucial upgrade on Assembly infrastructure, the building was yet another testament to the Government’s devotion to the welfare of the populace.

“President Akufo-Addo’s government has done so much in infrastructural development. Our government is second to none in terms of infrastructure in Ghana,” he declared.

Dr Bawumia, the Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party for the 2024 elections, declared his intent to uphold the philosophy of equitable development, which he said defined the Party’s ideology.

Stakeholders in the regional capital including traditional and political leaders have been calling for a Metropolitan status, and the Vice President said work on the upgrade was in progress and would be realised sooner.

Dr Archibald Yao Letsa, the Volta Regional Minister said the completion of similar edifices for other assemblies in the Region was welcoming and greatly improved administrative work, and that they remained “legacy projects” of the NPP.

He commended the Ho MCE for its steady commitment to the improvement of infrastructure, mentioning various road projects and others including staff accommodation which were ongoing.

Mr Divine Bosson, the MCE, thanked President Akufo-Addo for the realisation of the project while acknowledging the role of other stakeholders including traditional rulers.

As the parliamentary candidate for the NPP in the coming elections, the MCE made a passionate appeal to the community to retain the Party in power for sustained development.

“Electing Bawumia is the best way to say thank you to the NPP,” he said.

Togbe Ayim Adzokoto, the Paramount Chief of Takla was full of praise for government, and prayed for continuous efforts to help progress the regional capital.
