Head coach of Hasaacas Ladies, Yusif Basigi has backed his team to overcome Mali’s AS Mande in their second fixture of the CAF Women’s Champions League.
Hasaacas kicked-off their campaign in splendid fashion, seeing off Malabo Kings via an Evelyn Badu brace.
Despite anticipating stiff competition from Mande, the coach is confident that his side will grab a consecutive win.
“It’s not going to be an easy match. Because they’ve lost their first game and they wouldn’t like to lose for the second time. And Hasaacas ladies having won their first match will like to consolidate the lead so definitely it’s going to be a crunch match but at the end of the day we will carry the day,” Basigi said.
Hasaacas went into the game without certain key members of their squad, yet their flattering performance on the night will suggest otherwise.
Basigi was very pleased with the replacements in the team, and dismissed worries about complacency ahead of the Mande clash.
“You can see that the first game we played, Blessing was able to blend well with Janet. Of course I think with time as we progress it will even be much, much better.
“Not Hasaacas Ladies because we are aiming at the ultimate. This is just the beginning so how do you be complacent about having won the first game? Never ever at all, not hasaacas ladies. We are not complacent,” Basigi stated.
Hasaacas will be in search of a second consecutive victory in the competition, to stand a very good chance of qualifying for the knock-out stages.
The match kicks off at 1700 GMT.
