European clubs Barcelona and Chelsea have two players each in the final shortlist of five players for the prestigious CAF Awards which will be held in the Senegalese capital Dakar in February.
Former winner Didier Drogba and Chelsea teammate Michael Essien are joined on the list by Barcelona's duo of Seidou Keita and Yaya Toure.
Inter Milan and Cameroon's striker Samuel Eto Fils, who has won the award on three occasions, has also been nominated.
Incidentally, Eto won the UEFA Champions League with Barcelona last season.
The nominees were announced by Former African Footballer of the Year Victor Ikpeba.
The winner will be voted for by the coaches and captains of CAF's 52 federations and announced at the awards gala in February.
