The Ghana Cocoa Board says a ban imposed on three licensed buying companies from operating in some parts of the country is still in force.
The ban was imposed after the three; Armajaro Ghana Limited, Diabe and Transroyal were indicted in smuggling operations uncovered by ace journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
COCOBOD Chief Executive Anthony Fofie told journalists at a recent event to announce new producer price for cocoa, that the board is yet to review its decision on the case of the firms involved.
He said the Board had been monitoring the activities of the companies and will make a determination after a thorough assessment whether there was a commitment on the part of the three to put mechanisms in place to stop the smuggling.
According to him, if the Board sees any such commitment, it should be happy to lift the ban.
