The Christian Faith first came into being in 30 AD. This was the year of Ascension to Heaven of Jesus Christ, who God, the Good Father, had sent on a mission to our world, thirty-four years earlier-on. While on earth, Jesus Christ worked so as to sacrifice his life, die, and resurrect, to make the establishment of this faith possible. The Christian Faith has therefore been around for close to two millennia. In fact, the year 2030 AD will mark its two-thousandth anniversary: and many an expectant wise man who is fed-up with today’s World Order, are itching for this day to come. Many historians believe and teach that the Fall of Man in the Garden of Eden, which was the result of the sin of mankind’s progenitor, Adam, took place around the year 4,000 BC; and since then, mankind has been ruling (misruling?) himself without God. Could it therefore be that, this soon-to-come two-thousandth anniversary of the Christian Faith, will mark the end of the 6,000 years, some serious-minded seekers of God’s salvation believe have been allotted by God to mankind, to try to live and govern himself without His Will, Wisdom and Word? Should this be the case, could it be that, all Creation is now at the brink of God’s Sabbath of Rest for mankind, scheduled to last 1,000 years, which many salvation-seekers know as the Millennial Reign of Christ? (cf. Genesis 1: 31 – 2: 1-3, Second Peter 3: 8, Revelation 20: 2-7). Is God about to set aside all the governments of the world, which Satan has boastfully claimed to be covertly and overtly under his influence? And if so, is God about to usher His saints into this expected joyous and blissful Millennial Reign of the King of all kings? Well, these are food for serious thought; especially at such perilous times of mankind’s existence on earth. This is definitely the time when men ought to put on their God-given spiritual thinking caps, and seek to discern the times and seasons, in which mankind finds himself now. We read in the history of Israel, of the small family of Issachar, who constantly donned their God-given thinking caps to discern what their nation ought to do, in their relationship with God, at any given time. (First Chronicles 12: 32). Daniel, a prince of Israel, while in exile in Babylon at the time Nebuchadnezzar ruled that country, also sought to understand the times and seasons his people found themselves in, and the reasons for their misery under this king (Daniel 9, 10, 11); so they would be properly guided to live for God. And so, in the perilous times mankind is living in today, there ought to be some very serious thinkers, who would act, as the children of Issachar and Daniel did for Israel, to give direction to our world, which is in a state of spiritual confusion and coma. But alas, this is rather the time that we find many men willfully discarding their God-given thinking caps, to don man-made ones to live their lives, under the dictates of the World Order, oblivious of the fact that we are in the perilous times the Word of God has prophesied to come upon the inhabitants of the earth. The problems of humanity can never be solved by ordinary humans. This is because the devil has vowed never to leave man alone to his own affairs. And that is why at Creation, God left the affairs of the world in the hands of a man who was not just human, but super human; one who was in His image and likeness, in every way. A man in God’s image and likeness has all of God’s attributes and looks, imputed to him and blessed to be like God in power and awesomeness: being in His Class, so to speak. This, God had done, with the aim of establishing an eternal relationship and fellowship between Him and God-like man. It is important for man to know that, it was for very good reason, that, God made him at Creation, to be in His image and likeness. Every attribute, talent and gift, which God had given to man, He intends to use to connect to His Wisdom, to enable man function as His worthy representative on earth, and ruler over His Creation. If man must exercise dominion and rule over Creation in the stead of God, he must have all the looks and attributes that God possesses to be able to succeed. Therefore, God, without making these looks and attributes available to him, will not be fair to expect man to deliver in his assignment, or to hold him to account, should he falter or fail in doing as He expects of him. And so, God had made available to man, everything that He has. Be assured that, the facial features of God are the same He imputed to man. By looking at man’s facial features, therefore, we can understand that God has hairs on His head, a beard on His chin, side-burns on His cheeks, a mustache on His upper lip, eye-brows on His forehead, and eye-lashes over His eye-lids. Indeed, it must be obvious that, all the facial features of man are the direct imprints of those of God. What a glorious blessing. Do you doubt me saying all this? Wait till you meet Abraham for his testimony in this regard. Abraham hosted God to a lunch of hearth-baked cakes, roasted mutton, butter, and milk. (Genesis 18: 1-8). As the Lord God ate, Abraham stood-by to savor-in the looks of the Great One, and so you can believe his testimony of God’s facial characteristics. You can also ask Isaiah, the prophet of God, about how God looks like, if you can get to him, or you may simply believe his testimony in the Book of Isaiah. Here, he says: “In the year king Uzziah died I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple”. (Isaiah 6: 1, King James Version, KJV). Daniel, while in captivity in Babylon, saw the Ancient of Days and gives us the following testimony: “I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of Days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire”. (Daniel 7: 9, KJV). John, the beloved apostle of Jesus Christ, tells us how God looks like in the Book of Revelation: “His head and hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;” (Revelation 1: 14, KJV). Crowning all these testimonies of Abraham, Isaiah, Daniel and John, is that of the Savior, when he said in John 14: 9 to disciples who were gazing at him: “…he that hath seen me has seen the Father…” The portrait of God’s facial characteristics, painted by His own Word is clear and unmistakable. So, if you want to be an imitator of God (Ephesians 5: 1, NIV), in all His divine attributes (Second Peter 1: 3-4), start by maintaining your God-given facial characteristics and design; never alter them. As said earlier, God has very good reasons why He has so-endowed man with all His looks and attributes. He also expects man to understand and appreciate what He has done for him in love, in all of this, and therefore, keep, maintain, and defend all his God-given looks and attributes. God has revealed in His Word to mankind, how important man’s facial hairs are to Him; just as His own are to Him. In many places in His Word, God has given strict instruction to mankind, how he must treat and keep his God-given facial hair. In many more places in God’s Word, we read of the attitudes of both Old and New Testament saints and messengers of God, regarding their facial hair; holding it in such high esteem as to relate it to their spirituality, love, and loyalty to God. For such spiritually-minded people, called Nazarites in the bible records, their facial hair was at the center of their separation, loyalty, love, and consecration unto God. (cf. Numbers 6: 18, Judges 13: 3-7, 16: 17, First Samuel 1: 11). These people understood why God gave them their facial hair, and therefore, dedicated their lives in service to Him, in and by it. In Matthew 5: 36, 10: 30, Luke 12: 7, and 21: 18, Jesus Christ talks in a monologue to his followers about facial hairs. In these verses, he reveals how God strives to keep in place, wherever He has placed man’s facial hairs and to give them colors that He wishes.
