This tiny elephant breathed a sigh of relief after his life was very nearly TRUNK-ATED.
The unlucky toddler got the shock of his life as he tried to take a sip from this watering hole.
A camouflaged croc lurched out of the swamp and clamped its massive jaws round his trunk.
Fellow African Bush elephants raced to the rescue of the stricken youngster while the pair fought a goliath tug of war.
The herd stamped their feet and roared, scaring the croc off as amateur photographer Johan Opperman captured the amazing scene in the Kruger National Park, South Africa.
