The Assemblyman of the Baatsona Electoral Area in Spintex, Jeremiah Borketey Bortey, has extended his support to students at Abrantie College by donating hand-sewing machines to aid their vocational training.
Mr Bortey presented 10 sewing machines as part of his ongoing efforts to give back to the community and empower young people through skills development.
uring the matriculation ceremony for new students, he emphasised the importance of collective support in advancing education and vocational training in Ghana, noting that the youth are the foundation of the country's future workforce.
"Equipping students with practical skills is essential for their personal growth and the overall development of society," he said.
The Director of Abrantie College, King David Thompson, received the donation on behalf of the school and expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Mr Bortey for his generosity.
He also reassured the assemblyman that the college remains committed to providing high-quality education and training for its students.
“This gesture will significantly enhance the learning experience and help strengthen the vocational skills of our students, thereby uplifting the entire Baatsona community,” he noted.
The donated machines are expected to bolster the college’s resources, offering students more hands-on experience in their studies and better preparing them for their future careers in fashion and garment production.
