Ghana coach Avram Grant has not ruled out a return to the Black Stars for midfielder Sulley Muntari.
Muntari, who has not featured for the Black Stars since June 2014 after assaulting a management committee member of the Black Stars, tended in his apology letter to the Ghana Football Associations.
Opinions have split on whether he should be given a return to the Stars ahead of the African Cup of Nations in Gabon.
Grant, who eyed Muntari during his managerial days at the Fratton Park in Portsmouth, has not ruled the possibility of having Muntari in the team should he be better than the base of the team he has built
“I will not speak about individuals. First of all, Sulley was not my player in Portsmouth, he came after me. I wanted him but I left Portsmouth.”
“What happened in the World Cup, I don’t know the issue, and I was not here.”
“The door is opened to everybody but the most important thing is that we have a good base, the players that did well in the African Cup and they continue to do well.”
“If there will be any name that will be better than the players I have now, I will take them.”
“The base is a still base but we have changed about 20-30% of the team.”
Ghana will play Rwanda in the last round of matches for the African Cup of Nations qualifier in September.
