The Reverend Ben Larsey, District Head of the Praise Congregation of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Oyibi, has called on Christians to do away with partisan politics in Churches since it was a source of disunity in congregations.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Men's Fellowship of the church at Oyibi, near Dodowa in the Greater Accra Region on Sunday on the theme, "Let us go on to maturity", he charged Christians to open a "new chapter" in their lives by refraining from acts that retarded national development.
He noted that they would be doing "a disservice to the nation" if they did not allow the teachings of Jesus Christ to reflect in their daily lives as Ghanaians.
The District Head of the Church said even though Ghana is celebrating 50 years as a nation, "many Ghanaians are still young because of their behaviour. They will litter the street with garbage and polythene bags".
Rev. Larsey attributed the country's socio-economic woes to the mad rush for monetary gains instead of seeking spiritual development and asked the Churches to unite to fight for a common goal.
The Reverend Sampson Quaye, President of the Fellowship, promised the commitment of the men to work diligently to support activities of the Church.
