Independent owner, operator, and developer of wireless and power solutions, ATC Ghana has announced that residents and business users on the Telecel network may experience service disruptions.

This is because of ATC Ghana's inability to continue providing power to Telecel's equipment.

According to the company, this situation arises from Telecel's failure to meet its agreed obligations.

ATC Ghana, which supplies power to Telecel's equipment installed on several of its tower sites, made this decision after extensive negotiations with Telecel and notification to the National Communications Authority (NCA).

"This unfortunate decision has been taken following extensive negotiations with Telecel and notification to the National Communications Authority (NCA)."

"Not meeting the agreed obligations is such that ATC Ghana no longer has capacity to purchase electricity and diesel to service Telecel's equipment, particularly where its agreements with Telecel have expired."

Despite this setback, ATC Ghana says it remains committed to the growth of the telecommunications industry.

However, the company says it is open to finding a mutually acceptable commercial solution with Telecel to facilitate the restoration of services to Telecel's equipment.

But Telecel Ghana has deemed the accusations as “utterly false” adding that the matter had been escalated to the National Communications Authority (NCA) for resolution.

Telecel hinted at potential legal action to protect its brand and seek damages for any harm caused by ATC Ghana’s actions.

The telecommunication institution reassured its customers of its commitment to fulfilling contractual obligations and ensuring uninterrupted service delivery.
