A 34-year-old chartered forensic auditor and business risk strategist, Hafiz Dauda, has been given an overwhelming 100% endorsement by the Asutifi North District Assembly (ANDA) at Kenyasi in the Ahafo Region as District Chief Executive (DCE).
This follows his nomination as District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area by President John Dramani Mahama a few weeks ago.
Newly appointed representatives of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) to the district assembly membership had earlier been sworn in by His Worship Clement Kwasi Asomah, the Kenyasi District Magistrate.
The 36 members of the assembly unanimously voted 'yes' to affirm their belief and support for youth empowerment, experience and competency they have witnessed in the nominee's previous leadership roles within and beyond the district.
Asutifi North is one of the six administrative districts and municipalities in the Ahafo Region, with a population of 73,556, comprising 51.2% males and 48.8% females according to the Ghana Statistical Service 2021 Population and Housing Census.
With over 60% of the district being rural and farmers, both cash crops, including cocoa, timber, cashew and rubber, and foodstuffs, namely plantain, yam, cassava, tomatoes, cocoyam, among others, are produced for livelihood, with a minority working in the mining and business sectors of the economy.

Mr Dauda, in his acceptance remarks, expressed gratitude to President Mahama and members of the ANDA for giving him a resounding victory to confirm their belief in him, saying, "Together, we can make the Asutifi North District strong."
He has assured the provision of critical services, namely education, water, health, and sanitation, with other development partners, and strengthened agriculture as the leading productive sector, while supporting the development of other economic activities.
The DCE reaffirmed his core purpose of improving the living conditions of residents through the formulation and execution of planned development programmes and strategies for the effective mobilisation of resources necessary for sustainable growth.
"I will be a father and respect all persons irrespective of their status in society, including the vulnerable and marginalised, with honesty, diligence and integrity, and create opportunity for all. I will be responsive, transparent and accountable," he said.
The Member of Parliament (MP)for Asutifi North Constituency, Dr Ebenezer Kwaku Addo, in an interview with Joy News, Emmanuel Adu Gyamfi, promised full cooperation with the DCE to make the area attractive for investment, tourism and good living.
The MP implored his constituents to continuously trust him, the DCE and the John Mahama administration to improve their living conditions, assuring that "every key sector of the economy in the district will receive a major boost".
The Presiding Member on behalf of the assembly, Nnuro-Ameyaw Duoduakwah, pledged to join hands with the DCE to speed up development in the Asutifi North District.
