Research Agency Global Info Analytics in a recently conducted poll tips the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) candidate, Charles Opoku as being slightly ahead of James Gyakye Quayson.
The survey had 2,500 participants and provided valuable insights into the electorate's preferences ahead of the by-election.
According to the survey, Mr Opoku leads with a 1.1 % victory in the recent poll conducted on the Assin North by-election.
It further stated that when the electorates were asked who their preferred candidate in the by-election would be, 46.7% declared their support for Charles Opoku.
Some 45.6 % also expressed interest in the NDC’s candidate, Gyakye Quayson.
However, the other aspirant, Bernice Sefenu has 0.3 % while 0.5% of the electorates have no interest in the election.
Meanwhile, 6.9% of electorates remain undecided in the polls.
When the question of vote buying was raised, 78% of the respondents said they would accept and vote for the candidate that is offering the inducement.
Sixteen per cent shared the view that although they would accept the inducement, they would vote against the candidate while 3% indicated that they would reject the offer and vote against the candidate and the other 3% says they reject and still vote in the by-election.
According to the polls, 30 % of respondents indicated that their votes are going to be determined by ongoing projects in the constituency.
While 70% of electorates stated that ongoing projects would not influence their voting.
