The Akuapem South Municipal Assembly has donated an amount of GH¢ 800 to the Association of People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) in the District.
Mr Andrew Yaw Nyarko Adu, the Municipal Chief Executive told the third ordinary meeting of the Assembly that the money donated would be used to procure anti-retroviral drugs for the patients.
Mr Adu said the Ministry of Women and Children’s Affairs had also distributed pieces of condom to the people of Adoagyiri and Nsawam communities to help prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS in the two communities.
He urged the Assembly members, opinion leaders and heads of department to promote social practices that would help combat the disease.
