The Multimedia Group Limited has been honoured by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, with a Special Gold Award for its contribution to the economic development of Ashanti Region and other parts of the country.
The award, presented at the 2019 Ashanti Business Excellence Awards ceremony, was in recognition of the company's outstanding and positive impact on the local economy.
The award was also part of the commemoration of the 20th Anniversary celebration of the enstoolment of the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
Instituted in 2004, the awards seek to honour enterprises whose products and services have made an outstanding and positive impact on people in the region.
Acting General Manager for Multimedia Group's Kumasi Business Unit, Isaac Antwi, received a citation for the honour on behalf of management and staff of the company.
Director of 2019 Ashanti Business Excellence Awards, Isaac Darkwa, who announced the selection of the Multimedia Group Ltd had earlier notified the media giant in writing.
The letter read: "This year marks the 20th Anniversary of Otumfuo and the 2019 Ashanti Business Excellence Awards Ceremony is, accordingly, being organised in commemoration of the occasion.
“It is with pleasure that I write to notify you that the MULTIMEDIA GROUP has been selected to be honoured with a Special Gold Award at this year's commemorative Awards Ceremony.”
According to Mr Darkwa, "the awards fall within the context of the vision of Otumfuo, the Asantehene, for the economic development of Ashanti".
