Reigning Ghana Premier League champions, Asante Kotoko, have parted ways with head coach Seydou Zerbo following the loss to Medeam Sporting Club on Sunday, March 26.
The Porcupine Warriors suffered defeat at the Baba Yara Stadium on matchday 23 of the betPawa Premier League resulting in a drop down the league table.
The club has enjoyed inconsistent performances this season as they have won just five of their last 16 games since winning back-to-back games in November 2022.
Under the Burkinabe coach, Kotoko have been eliminated from the 2022/23 MTN FA Cup while they also missed out on the 2023 President's Cup title, losing 0-1 to Accra Hearts of Oak.
As head coach of the team, Zerbo took charge of 26 games, winning 11 and losing eight. Seven of those games also ended in stalemates. During the said period, Kotoko scored 31 goals while conceding 22.
Abdul Gazale will now take charge of the team immediately as acting head coach while club looks for a long-term replacement.
