In its quest to improve and support government efforts to ensure quality delivery of service to students in public schools, ASA Savings & Loans has presented teaching and learning resources to the Sunyani M/A Basic School in the Sunyani East Municipality of the Bono Region.

The items include twenty mono desks, six white marker boards, 100 pieces of exercise books, six teachers' chairs, two Veronica buckets and four boxes of pens.

The rest are a box of pencils, one box of board markers and three teachers' tables.

“The donation is to support the efforts of the teaching staff and improve learning outcomes, said the Sunyani Branch Manager of the company, Charles K. Akpenor.

Mr Isaac Agyapong, Area Manager of the company, said this presentation forms part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives and gave the assurance that the company would continue to partner with public schools to improve the quality of education across the country.

“We have supported a lot of public schools and health facilities throughout the year and we hope that it will lead to improved service delivery to the populace”, he noted.

Some of the institutions that benefited from our gesture include the Kasoa Emmanuel Presby School, Akyem Aboabo Health Center, Water System to Benim Community, Effia Nkwanta Hospital, Alajo 3&4 Basic School, amongst others” he added.

Receiving the items on behalf of the school, the Headteacher, Eric Duotey expressed gratitude to the company for supporting the school and helping to reduce its challenges.

“We would put them to good use to ensure that lessons are delivered appropriately, and tests administered properly to uplift the image of the school and to meet the standards of GES. We appeal to other benevolent organizations and individuals to support us as the government cannot do it all alone.

On behalf of the students, he praised the company for extending this kind gesture to them.
