To bridge the information technology gap and make ICT learning accessible to all, ASA Savings and Loans has presented a modern Computer set, a router and a high-resolution projector to the ASHMA Tsui-Bleoo 2 Basic school in the Ashaiman municipality of the Greater Accra Region.

At a short presentation of the items to the school, the Ashaiman Area Manager of the company, Richmond Afari-Hayford underscored the need to build the capacity of the younger ones through sound education, adding that the gesture forms part of the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR).

The Branch Head of the Zenu Business Center of ASA, Beatrice Mori-Workey, said aside from support to education, the company commits resources towards supporting health facilities, providing safe drinking water and conducting free medical screenings across communities.

The CSR Manager, Richard Nartey, said the company was not only interested in making profits but in spearheading development in its host communities.

According to him, the organization is socially committed to supporting education in the company’s catchment areas.

He said education as a critical tool propels the progress of societies, adding that "no effort should be spared in giving future leaders a better foundation."

The headmistress of the school, Nelly Tom- Aggrey disclosed that due to good results produced by the public basic school, they have witnessed increased enrollment that is putting pressure on available infrastructure.

“These items presented will go a long way to solve some of our challenges as an educational institution,”she said.

Receiving the items, she encouraged other benevolent individuals and organizations to come to their aid by providing them with infrastructure support.
