A Sekondi District Magistrate's Court has granted a 1,000 GH Cedi bail to Samuel Botchwey, an artist, arraigned for allegedly unlawful entry and stealing.
The accused who pleaded not guilty is to re-appear on August 9 this year.
Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Joe Hedidor, said on May 10 this year, Zana Osumanu, the complainant, who is a trader, obtained a 300-GH Cedi loan from the Kwesimintsim Agency of the Ahantaman Rural Bank to improve her business.
He said she added 50 GH Cedis to the amount and kept it in her home at Apremdo where the accused also lived.
Chief Inspector Hedidor said at about 8.00 AM on May 16, the accused took advantage of the absence of the complainant, broke into her room and stole the 350 GH Cedis.
He said when the complainant detected the theft on her return home, she reported the matter to the Police and the accused was arrested.
Chief Inspector Hedidor said during investigations, the mother of the accused handed over 28 GH Cedis 4GP of the stolen money she found in a bag belonging to him.
He said the accused was arrested and charged before the court.
