Kieran Gibbs was Arsenal's hero as he scored to cancel out Harry Kane's opener and earn a 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur in the North London derby at the Emirates Stadium.
Spurs went ahead through Kane -- who was let go by Arsenal's youth academy at eight years old -- with the England international breaking a weak offside trap 32 minutes in before slotting past Petr Cech.
Mauricio Pochettino's side wasted a number of second-half chances, and were made to pay as substitute Gibbs volleyed home 76 minutes in after a superb Mesut Ozil cross for a share of the points.
Manchester City remained top of the table despite being held to a goalless draw at rock-bottom Aston Villa as Remi Garde began his reign with a positive result.
Villa had lost all but one of their 10 league games since beating Bournemouth on the opening day, and last collected a point in a 2-2 draw with Sunderland on Aug. 28.
However, they were able to frustrate City, who also saw striker Wilfried Bony suffer an apparent hamstring injury in the first half, despite having to fend off a host of chances.
Raheem Sterling and Kevin De Bruyne both passed up clear opportunities for the visitors, while Fernando headed against the crossbar in injury time and Fabian Delph sent the follow-up just wide.
Jurgen Klopp suffered his first defeat as Liverpool manager as Scott Dann's late goal gave Crystal Palace a 2-1 win at Anfield.
Palace took the lead on 21 minutes when Emre Can failed to deal with a Wilfried Zaha cross, allowing Yannick Bolasie to blast home from 12 yards.
Liverpool, who saw Mamadou Sakho injured during the first half, hit back just before the break when Philippe Coutinho side-footed the ball home after Adam Lallana had flicked on a Nathaniel Clyne cross.
Dann had the last word, though, heading home at the second attempt from a corner to give Palace all three points.
