Berekum Arsenal played a highly determined game to hold defending champions, Accra Hearts of Oak to a one all drawn game in their Onetouch Top Four encounter at the Robert Mensah Sports Stadium on Thursday.
After a goalless first half, it was Hearts parading top players including Ishmael Addo, Ekow Ghansah and Nana Kofi Egyir among others who resumed the second half strongly and brought pressure to bear on Arsenal but failed to make early in-roads in their opponents’ goal area.
The Phobians continued with the onslaught and it therefore came as no surprise when Hearts scored the opener from the spot kick through Stanley Afedzie in the 79th minute.
Arsenal who briefly protested against the penalty forced the tide in their favour and with persistent pressure Agyemang Badu scored the much-needed equalizer in the 87th minute.
In the other match played at the Sunyani Coronation Park, Kumasi Asante Kotoko beat Kpando Heart of Lions 2-0.
