On Wednesday, the Armed Forces SHTS advanced to the quarter-final stage of the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ).
At the event held at the University of Ghana, the Armed Forces SHTS represented by Akuamoah-Boateng Isaiah and Adjei Appiah Eric secured a win for their school as they contested against Tamale SHS and Osei Tutu SHS.
Abdul Rahman Mustapha and Nkrumah Emmanuel represented Tamale SHS while Osei Tutu SHS was contested by Owusu Nketia Leo and Osei William Miller.

Armed Forces SHTS took the lead in the first round of the contest with 15 points. Tamale SHS came close with 12 points on the score table and Osei Tutu SHS came in last with 8 points.
With 21 points in hand, Armed Forces SHTS maintained their lead in the second round.
Both Tamale SHS and Osei Tutu SHS fell behind in the speed race as they secured 11 points and 9 points respectively.

All three schools in the third round failed to earn a point as the problem of the day proved to be a tough nut to crack.
In the fourth round, Armed Forces SHTS succeeded in earning 10 points bringing their tally to 31 points on the score table. Sadly, Tamale SHS scored 24 points as Osei Tutu SHS maintain their position at the bottom of the pile.
At the end of the contest, Armed Forces SHTS emerged victorious with 34 points, closely followed by Tamale SHS with 30 points.
Osei Tutu SHS managed to secure only 16 points and were eliminated from the contest.
