Opera submitted the browser to Apple's gatekeepers last month and kept a cheeky count-up to approval going on its website.
We didn't give Opera Mini much of a chance as Apple had not approved any non-Web Kit browser. But Apple has proved us, and many others, wrong.
Opera believe the fruit company's decision may be down to the fact Mini compresses webpages on the company's servers and then transmits these back to the phone, meaning that its not technically rendering in its own code.
The Norwegian firm also claim their browser is six times faster than Safari on the iPhone. It has also said that it would start working on an iPad browser app if Mini was approved but it has yet to confirm this.
Opera Mini 5 browser for iPhone and iPod Touch is free and available to download from the App Store now.
