An article we published on Myjoyonline.com on November 24, 2024, authored by Bright Simons under the title “DBG, GHANA’S TOP DEVELOPMENT BANK. GOES FOR THE JUGULAR”, claimed that Lawfields Consulting was owned by the same Bank of Ghana Deputy Governor who has the remit to supervise banks in Ghana, including DBG, owned Lawfields Consulting and Lawfields Consulting has been intimately involved in reviewing and approving a host of contracts some of which have come under scrutiny.
Our attention has since been drawn to the fact that the said Deputy Governor transferred her interest in Lawfields Consulting in December 2011 and has nothing to do with Lawfields Consulting.
Lawfields has also denied any involvement in reviewing and approving any contracts which have come under said scrutiny referred to in the article.
The error, along with comments that proceeded therefrom, are regretted. We, therefore, apologise unreservedly to Lawfields Consulting for any discomfort the publication may have caused.
