Another Accident at Sarikura in the central Gonja district of the Savannah region involving another Garu-Kumasi bond Kia bus with registration number GR 7287-21 has claimed 2 lives and injured 14 others.
Among the injured is a 9 year little girl who suffered a fractured leg.
The Savannah Regional Commander of Ghana National Fire Service, ACFO, Kwesi Baffour Awuah who confirmed the incident to Joynews, said the accident occured around 10pm last night.
He said a rescue team from his outfit was quickly called to the scene and the injured were conveyed to the Holistic Medicare Hospital at Buipe.
He said the bus was from Garu in the Upper East Region to Kumasi in the Ashanti region but upon reaching Sarikura, near mile 40, the same spot where the two buses collided on resulting in the death of some 20 people, one of the front tyres of the bus burst forcing it onto the ground.
He said one person died on the spot while the second, at the Holistic Medicare Hospital.
The injured are currently receiving treatment at the Holistic Medicare Hospital.
Meanwhile, 28 people have lost their lives and 64 others injured between January and February in 3 separate accidents involving 4 vehicles between the Mpaham and Buipe road in the central Gonja District.
Also, the Savannah regional police command and the traditional leaders from Sarikura, Buipe and Fufulso will be addressing the media separately on the incident.
